A little Carleton Island history British Warships Seneca and Limnade (Limnade was built at the North Bay of Carleton Island 1780-1781) According to Wikipedia: ~ In Greek mythology, the Limnades / Leimenides were a type of Naiad. They lived in hazardous freshwater lakes .Their parents were river or lake gods. Vantage from the cliffs of the British Fort Fort Haldimand at the head of Carleton Island. Limnade was built at the ship works that once existed in this bay. The remains of the British warship HMS Haldimand lay below the boat top left. Below is the same bay seen above. The HMS Ontario was also built there. And in this scene you can see the fort and the bay.
